Researchers at Yale conducted a study after research showed that there was reason to believe that cultural factors, as in some stereotypes, may affect one's long term health. The study was designed to see if there are any correlation between daily birth rates and annual holidays. A sample size was utilized of all birth certificate data from every U.S. birth that occurred within a week on either side of several holidays, including Halloween.
Halloween, for some, has connotations of negativity, Accordingly, they found that there was a small slump (about 5%) in spontaneous births and a larger dip (about 17%) in cesarean sections at Halloween. After adjusting for year and day of the week, from a sample size of more than 1,800,000, the effects were deemed significant.
Whether or not Halloween brings with it negative connotations to you personally, it’s hard not to see the correlation. More importantly, the question of how or why is this happening is at the center of the discussion, especially since the effect is present in natural births as well. So far, there is not any good explanation.
Next, it would seem, interviews with people who have Halloween birthdays would be in order -to see if they felt or suspected they were subjected to any unfair or unwarranted stereotype label. Or, if any strange health effects were experienced.
Meanwhile, if a Halloween / Birthday party is planned, Halloween Costume Ideas are available all over the place, especially on the Internet, in lots of popular categories -like Group Halloween Costume Ideas.
